OMG I have to go to New York City again! Kate Mckinnon is having a show at Fashion Institute for Technology. And she’s invited me….along with everyone else thats beading her way. She also put out a call for Big Bold Work. Well I may have big and bold work but its not good enough. She has high standards. How do I know this? I’ve watched her Youtube videos.
This time I’m staying at the WaldorfAstoria, a legendary hotel. It's for all of one night but this way I am going to combine two of my dreams together. I am still amazed that something like this has happened because I took up that beading needle!
polymer clay beads, the first try |
beads waiting to bake |
Playing with polymer clay turned out to be suich fun, After a half dozen attempts to use the clay I went back and read, read, read. Thanks to Cyndi Lavin’s tutorials and information at polymer clay cental, I had another go and this time made three charms which i colorred with metal paint and Gilders Paste. I love them and now I know I can do better. Already I’ve made up a second batch better than the first and now I’m waiting for more clay tools and then I shall aim for the Holy Grail of clay; PMC(precious metal clay with torch firing)
